“Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships.”
– STEPHEN R. COVEY
The above quote depicts the necessity of trust in effectively communicating with others in our daily transaction. The recurring issue with leadership in our clime is trust. The people have wholesomely lost trust in political office holders because of their very greedy attitudes. The people no longer matter once they finally assume office.
Most often those that are privileged to assume political offices either elected or appointed are always at the lowest ebbs of their lives until a political patron sees them as conduits for thier selfish aggrandizement. These political patrons find ways to impose them on the populace and most often they succeed in having these wretched persons in political offices as a result of the peoples complacency.
It becomes more worrisome when these set of personalities finally assume office, they suddenly become terror on those who showed them mercy to access the so called exalted offices. I had encounter with an elected political office holder where she boldly claimed that she is being criticized because of her beauty. I sincerely don’t know when being beautiful became a criteria for leadership.
I saw in this person a nauseating attitude of unnecessary pride. It is quite unfortunate that these political office holders don’t know they are errand Personnel to their respective constituents. They are either elected or appointed to run errands on behalf of the people.
It is very important that political office holders know that their respective offices are transaction of trust and wholesome service to the people. It is the inalienable right of the people to criticize public office holders towards ensuring that they take the right actions in the collective interests of the people.
For those who encourage political office holders to remain as mediocre or non performers then you will reap from the consequences of their actions. Every Political office is time bound or restrained so it is expected that the time is well maximized in improving the lives of the people.
Whoever is privileged to occupy political office should understand that it is a transaction of trust and service to the people. This is the thrust on which we are enlightening people on the need to be watchful in whom they entrust their leadership as we move towards the 2023 general elections.
We are already in another cycle of elections and credible achievements for the good of the people should be the yardstick for electing those seeking political offices in 2023. Quite a number of events have proven that never-do-wells end up as tyrants when finally elected.
So, It is in our collective interests to fish out these people friendly and successful entrepreneurs to come and serve us.
