Activist Faults Osun Government’s Integrity Tests on Mega Schools, Says Move a Ruse, Political Trick

A civil rights activist and Executive Chairman of Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman has taken a swipe at Osun State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, describing his government purported integrity test on the Mega Schools built across the State as a ruse and nothing but politics of hatred to score cheap political points.

Comrade Sulaiman who warned the State government to stop politics of bitterness and hatred against his immediate predecessor in office, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola saying Oyetola was a prominent part of the eight years government of pains and pangs that the people of the state went through.

According to the activist in a statement he issued in Osogbo at the weekend, Oyetola was a decision maker of the then government, noting that if the governor has the desire to carry out maintenance works on the schools, he should not make any noise about it because both of them are guilty of shoddy infrastructures being put in place in the State then.

Sulaiman pointed out to Oyetola that his new friend and current Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial district, Mr. Ajibola Bashiru was the then Defacto Deputy Governor to Aregbesola.

He disclosed that Governor Oyetola should stop claiming ignorance of all the policies of Rauf Aregbesola’s government before the right thinking good people of the State.

The rights activist also warned Oyetola to stop pretending as a saint, recalling that the office of the former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, was relegated to background then, in order to give Oyetola’s unconstitutional office(Chief of Staff), a major stake where important decisions were taken in the immediate past government.

He wonders why Oyetola?, a major decision maker and taker became a turncoat, adding that, pretence of Oyetola and members of his cabinet today, on the most of the decisions taken by Aregbesola’s government, would not be accepted by the good people of Osun State.

According to him, “If Oyetola has personal grievances to settle with Mr. Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, he should not touch the radio station, I mean, Government of Rauf Aregbesola because Oyetola was a decision maker and taker in the area of construction of Mega Schools, payment of half pensions and salaries, reclassification of schools and others, where some of Oyetola aides today, were promoters of those acclaimed Aregbesola bad policies then. It is because some of them lack what we called shame, they are supposed to bury their faces in shame.”

“All the hullabaloo and the campaign of calumny against Aregbesola government are because of the forthcoming 2022 Governorship Election in the State, just to pretend to the good people of the State that he was not part of all decisions being taken by Aregbesola’s Government, because people of the State are still nursing the injuries sustained during Aregbesola’s administration till date and furious against the present government in the State”, because Oyetola’s administration is an offshoot of Aregbesola’s government.

” I am surprised to hear the word ‘integrity’ from the administration of Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, the Government that has no respect for rule of law and wishes of the people. For instance, when the respected Comrade Amitolu Shittu, was pronounced and appointed as Director General of Osun Amotekun Security Network by Oyetola, until when the designation became the subject of litigation from opposition, before the action was reversed.

Governor Oyetola was doing as if he did not have any knowledge of what contained therein as regards to designation in the law established Amotekun in Osun State which he assented to after the passage by the State House of Assembly.

Sulaiman added that the Local Government administration in the State, backlogs of 34months pension and salary arrears, annual salary increament and nominal promotions for State workforce and host of others,were nothing to write home about under the nose of Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola today, adding that the collection of sum of Three Thousand Naira(N3,000) for obtaining of Teaching employment forms by the citizens of the State, were contrary to the provision of the established labour law in Nigeria.

Sulaiman therefore, declared that the people of likeminds across the length and breadth of the State, would soon hold the powerful meeting on how to rescue the State from the present government of deceit and deception so as to save the State and her good people from further damages.
