The Accord Party has condemned the usage of its party logo by the organisers and stakeholders of the Ibadan opposition coalition summit which held on Saturday in the Oyo state capital.
This sharp condemnation was at the heels of the decision of the Lagos chapter of the party to back the national chairmanship of its former presidential candidate, Prof. Christopher Imumolen
The party described the unauthorized usage of its party logo as an act of desperation which reveals the mood of the organisers.
However the Accord has issued a warning and threatened a possible legal action to alter what it called an unpleasant political development which associated it with an opposition political move without due consultation with the party’s leadership.
In a related vein, the Oyo state governor, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde has made a swift clarification to disabuse the minds of Nigerians about the Ibadan summit.
The governor pointed that contrary to the narrative pushed by some quarters that the opposition coalition summit was targeted at one individual, the gathering was rather a move in the interest of Nigeria.
According to the governor, it was conceptualized to save the country from drifting into a one party state which he said is inimical to democracy.
