NIGERIA’S social commentator and leadership analyst, Amb.Steve Nwose, yesterday, championed the long awaited Voiceout Nigeria News leadership zoom summit from his United States base, alongside other great conference facilitators, such as Dr.Kunle Tometi, Dr.Cecilia Okachi and Emeagi Williams, who spoke on different topics.

The seminar which was the first of its kind by any new media operating from Nigeria, saw facilitators addressing salient issues bordering on patriotism, integrity, leadership transparency and security in a democracy, to re orientate, educate and inform Nigerians, especially the younger generation for edification pursuant to a rebranded Nigerian nation where there is a dire need for fundamental socio-economic and leadership reset.

Ambassador Nwose while lecturing during the seminar that lasted several hours, asserted the need for Nigerians to take responsibility in all matters that concern leadership with the view to promoting a polity or a public space that can elicit pride in all citizens, stressing that the present crop of leaders in Nigeria have failed the young people by creating chaos in the system that now intimidate some and provoke others to react violently.
He pointed as unfortunate, the recent situation where the govt of Nigeria mandated some trigger-happy security personnel to fire live bullets where peaceful young Nigerians were converged to demand an end to a vicious police system and untoward political leadership that makes life unbearable for the generality of the citizens, describing the termination of lives there as a massacre.

In a related issue, Dr.Kunle Tometi treated the need for transparency in governance as a measure that can create credibility and trust.
He enjoined the Nigerian leaders at all facets to put transparency and accountability in the front burners, warning that anything devoid of these essentials will always backfire and promote hurlyburly and disaffection which will inturn result in public hostility.

Dr.Cecilia Okachi who extensively spoke on the essence of adopting or ensuring good leadership traits right from the family fronts urged families across the nation to realise always that charity begins at home, advising that if homes get it right, the nation will be good.

Speaking of the eternal essence of security in a democratic setting, Emeagi Williams in doing justice to the topic, affirmed that security should be viewed holistically and should be seen as an integral part of the society.
He pointed that the need for a well trained police, equipped and adequately controlled can never be over emphasized, urging all leadership stakeholders to urgently pursue the state police agenda in order to narrow down to specifics, pointing that re allocating police control along state lines will take security so close to the backgrounds, better than the present pseudo community-police integrations that only scratch the problems posed in the various regions on the surface, offering mere superficial panacea.

The organisers, the VONN, through the international and national moderators, Steve Nwose and Ogunbanjo Shakiru, provided all participants with the opportunity to ask questions as measures to achieve the aim of the conference.
The VONN international leadership forum is a prelude to the forthcoming International Leadership Merit Award-ILMA billed to hold in Nigeria within the month.

The publisher of the VONN, Princess Loveline Agbonifo thanked all the participants for showing concern in the leadership development of Nigeria which will usher in a new Nigeria.
