As part of his new year message to Ndi Igbo, the indigenes of Aboru land,Lagos State and indeed Nigerians, the apex leader of the IGBO in Aboru,Alimosho LGA,Lagos state,HRH,Eze Ephraim C. Nnaemeka has declared that leaders of all facets should begin to lead by example by seeing their exalted positions as opportunities to serve the children of God who are the citizens.
Nnaemeka who recently returned from his homeland in Anambra where his people hosted him at his annual ‘Eze and Friends’ rendezvous to express their respect and love for him pointed as regrettable the situation of Nigeria where especially political leadership beneficiaries elevate themselves for citizens to deify thereby forgetting their roles or positions as servants.
According to Nnaemaka,Nigerians have no business living in abject poverty and insecurity if things were put in proper perspective from the onset. Wondering why so many strange people are occupying various positions of authority in Nigeria,he affirmed that a situation where the children of God abandon the ‘throne’ for ‘strangers’ to usurp is sad, sorry and extremely unfortunate;the reason he said that Nigeria remains a scapegoat stabbed and tortured by her own citizens.
Nnaemeka said,”since I have been traveling,I have never seen a place like Nigeria where everything is disorderly, where citizens live in enmity even though they are grossly victimized by a system that has no major definition.
“I am very afraid about the scheme of things. It appears that there is no conscious effort by the ones in authority to correct the anomalies”
Continuing,Nnaemeka stated that the situation of Nigerians arise from a gang-up by selfish people who have rendered Nigeria like an organization whose departments are deliberately starved and punished so that only the center or the headquarters survive;leaving those components to continually suffer stunted growth. According to him, when such components receive any petty support from the center, they can only be grateful, just like when water is provided in the desert for a thirsty being.
Nnaemeka therefore called on Nigerians who have one opportunity or the other to show example by being service oriented. He implored well meaning Nigerians to begin to rewrite the Nigerian narrative from their individual quarters by being godly and human.
