A prominent security stakeholder and Managing Director of Scorpion Zone Security Services Ltd,OBA Barry Olorunfemi Abejide Orishadaun,the Aworo Olomuooke Agbon of Omuooke Ekiti,Ekiti State and the Obarisa Agbaiye (worldwide) has supported the coming of the regional security outfit,AMOTEKUN,describing it as a welcome development and a phenomenon which time has come.
Speaking during a chat with Boldnews Africa and Times watch media team who visited him during the ‘No Place for Crime Campaign’ in Lagos,Orishadaun pointed that the need to complement security services in the southwest areas which recently became prone to activities of the kidnappers,herdsmen and terrorists warranted the formation of this outfit codenamed Amotekun.
He said that the spate of kidnapping activities and killings cannot be tolerated any longer,hence this essential action by a coalition of southwest governors of Nigeria.
Speaking,Orishadaun said,”The way that our people are being kidnapped around the markets,homes,business places,in the farms and along the roads is rampant and condemnable.
“I am in support of Amotekun but there is need for effective training and coordination. This is to enable them work efficiently within the purview of the law”.
Further Orishadaun who is also the Monarch of all traditionalists in Ekiti state emphasized that those aversed to the concept of Amotekun are enemies of the Yoruba race who have sold their collective conscience for money and political opportunities;pointing that the security of Nigeria should be paramount above any selfish desire.
