Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC , Omoyele Sowore has urged Nigerians to avoid candidates who keep shifting grounds as the 2027 general election campaigns gather momentum.
Sowore who was recently described as a voice of conscience by another presidential candidate , and who just returned from the United States for his nationwide campaign reacted to a report on Daily Trust . com which quoted the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC , Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as saying that the NDC will reverse subsidy removal in their own way if voted into power in 2027.
Omoyele Sowore said via an online publication , “the lying machines have suddenly realized that their position on fuel subsidy is deeply unpopular. Now the dance around “restoring” subsidy has begun, vague promises, convenient reversals, and dishonest attempts to rewrite their own records.
” They can no longer sustain their past positions anywhere, whether in the North or the South. As public anger grows over the consequences of subsidy removal, they keep shifting, twisting and grifting, hoping Nigerians will forget what they said and what they supported.
” We have been consistent since the beginning of life, fuel subsidy should never have been removed in the first place. We will restore it transparently and confront the corruption and profiteering that were used as excuses for punishing ordinary Nigerians.
” They are shifting because the people remember. We are not shifting”.
