In order to establish the peculiarity of Iworo land in terms of lawful living, patriotism and development, the monarch of Iworo Kingdom in Olorunda Local Council Development Area,Lagos State,His Majesty,Oba Oladele Friday Kosoko,Ogundeyi ii (JP) told Timeswatch on Monday that hooliganism, indecency and gansterism are alien to the people of Iworo due to the fact that communal laws first forbid them before the constitutional ones.
Oba Kosoko who is the 24th oba of the ancient kingdom which has existed for over 400 years noted that the unwritten Constitution of Iworo is so strong and influencial that it aids the indigenes of Iworo to be mindful of the implications of being unlawful and unmindful of the dictates of the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Lagos state and the LCDA which are sacrosanct.
The oniworo who was an erstwhile member of the National Assembly emphasised that it is difficult to find sons and daughters of Iworo indulge in hooliganism and criminality as experienced in other areas, stating that the standard police division present in the land is an indication that the leadership of Iworo has a bias for law and order, safety and security.
Pointing at the Primary Healthcare Centre and the ongoing Federal Model College project for which the kingdom earmarked 30 acres of land,as well as the extensive road and lighting projects as some of the factors that show that Iworo is a unique place,Oba Kosoko said that investors are welcome in the kingdom where peace and security reign supreme. He also noted that the cordial relationship between the indigenes and citizens prove the global mindset that rule the people of Iworo.
“There is no difference between the hosts and visitors. Everyone embraces peaceful coexistence. The constitution even states that naturalisation, marriage or communal permission grants any Nigerian citizenship of any locality where he or she has dwelled for long period of time”,he stated.
On the Covid-19 scurge and the stay at home order of the Federal govt,he said that the Coronna virus pandemic has become a global issue that everyone should be very mindful about, pointing that he had adequately educated his community on the need to comply to the stay at home order and stay safe by observing the social distancing rules to curb the spread of the deadly and dreaded virus.
Oba kosoko used this medium to eulogise and appreciate Reuther & Eze Global Resources Ltd and Auto Panacea Technologies Ltd, companies who synergized to share relief food items to the aged widows of Iworo land to cushion the harsh effect of the stay at home order of the FG and the Lagos State govt; describing the gesture as the first to happen since his ascension to the throne of his ancestors.
He ended by saying that the Iworo palace already has a welfare scheme that empowers well over 44 widows on monthly basis with sums ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 to support their living.
