Your Excellency,
Permit me to salute you for your firm belief in the Nigerian nation, such that has made you a peculiar citizen that concentrated investment here for employment creation in the interest of youth and old.
This accorded Your Excellency the hallmark that stands you out.
In Lagos state, your immense and unquantifiable socio political cum leadership contributions which changed the trajectory of the state and her agelong economic narrative to the envy of other states.
Since 1999 when democracy returned to Nigeria, the path you created has existed as a major blueprint for the consolidation of democratic governance for public good.
Your Excellency, it remains deep in the annals of creative leaders that you brought vibrancy and developmental competition to the local government administration through the creation of 37 additional Local Council Development Areas to augment nt the existent 20, to push development across the length and breadth of Lagos.
That you used creativity to generate fund to sustain them as the FG attempted to financially suffocate the state then is commonplace.
Against these backgrounds and more, allow me to agonisingly tell Your Excellency that the present crop of APC leaders who should save the name and structure of the party, knowing how it metamorphosed through phases to attain its mega status, are committing colossal travesty and demeaning blunders, such as the worrisome aftermath of the primary elections held on 29th May.
Your Excellency, that LASIEC failed to live up to its promise to conduct a very credible election is a story for another day. What is abysmal and capable of creating catastrophe in the various council areas is the disgraceful situation where some unpopular aspirants began to display APC chairmanship candidate forms, after the party had issued forms to successful aspirants across board, situation that has generated bad blood and tension in Council Areas, like Amuwo Odofin, Igando/Ikotun, Apapa etc.
Suffice it Your Excellency, to say that the deafening silence of party leaders in the face of this inglorious travesty presents the party as one poised to give chairmanship opportunity to the highest bidder of any council.
In the light of this, your fatherly urgent intervention that would address the current obvious impasse and widespread cacophony in the state is direly needed, especially as calamity looms if you do not strategically and meticulously nip the attempts of some elements in the party to make a mess of your labours and that of other party heroes.
Your Excellency sir, as the world watches the APC in Lagos with keen interest in the ensuing imbroglio capable of dragging the good name of the party in the mud, kindly make a move to salvage the situation for posterity sake.
Your Excellency, someone that represents the party’s voice, also should address the public ON WHY TWO CHAIRMANSHIP FORMS WERE GIVEN TO TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN SAME LOCAL GOVT, and quickly too, to demystify this unwholesome trend.
As I end this missive, my ultimate trust is that you will end the ugly saga abrupt.
