IGANDO/IKOTUN LCDA CHAIRMAN, AKINSANYA DOLES OUT CASH, GRAINS TO CONSTITUENTS AMID ECONOMIC CRUNCH

The Executive Chairman Igando-Ikotun Lcda, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde on good Friday, rolled out cash to both indigent and other citizens of the council area in order to cushion the effect of the current hardship being faced by the people.

No fewer than 400 members of his constituency were given the sum of N25, 000.00 each as grant or empowerment to enable them cope with the present economic reality in the country.

The beneficiaries which included women, Men and youths, were drawn from the 7 Ward’s of the LCDA.

Flag off of the cash and grains distribution took place in Igando-Ikotun Secretariat while cash distribution took place at Klm 5, LASU/ISHERI expressway,Igando.

Akinsanya said his decision to embark on the empowerment was borne out of the current hardship being faced by the people, stressing that “there is no better time to reach out to the people than now because the hardship is real.

“The decision was also informed by the fact that the people freely entrusted me with their mandate to serve them as the council chairman, so when they are in need, “it is morally binding on me to reach out to them and that is exactly what I am doing today.

“I will continue to attract empowerment programmes to compliment the transformative agenda of our Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is doing his best to take Lagos State to an enviable height”, he added.

Akinsanya disclosed further that the empowerment programme was primarily aimed at cushioning the effect of the present hardship Nigerians are going through, adding they are doing this to assist the people who are facing the present economic challenges.

He said though the present hardship in the country was informed by the inability of past administrations to put in place, democratic foundations that would address the yearnings of Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is leaving no stone unturned to bring a lasting solution to the challenges faced by Nigerians.

Beneficiaries at the occasion commended the council chairman for identifying with the people, describing him as a true leader of the people.

A particular beneficiary said, “we have never had it so good like we are having under this administration of Akinsanya

“Akinsanya is a born leader and a team player who carries everybody along. The constituents, the party leaders, the stakeholders and the downtrodden in the society are feeling the impact of his administration.

“All we wish him is God’s abundant blessings and protection in his political endeavours.”

Akinsanya concluded saying more dividends of democracy will continue to be provided for the good people of the community.

Speaking to the Senior Special Adviser to the chairman on media, Comrade Oseni A.S, he expressed satisfaction at the impactful empowerment schemes of his boss and noted that a mega grant comes up soon which will touch over 600 constituents.

Oseni further emphasised that the palliatives will begin to happen on monthly basis.
