A pan Igbo group, Igbo Ruo Ulo Development Union Worldwide, IDUW, is currently championing a clarion call for sons and daughters of Igbo descent to concentrate development initiatives, resources home to make the Southeast a model in Nigeria.

IDUW with tentacles touching all the Igbos in Nigeria and all parts of the world has a unique vision to catalyse accelerated development of Igbo land, even while strongly believing in national integration that keeps the Nigerian nation as a united and truly prosperous country.
Brandishing a Non Partisan, religious and political flag, Igbo Ruo Ulo Development Union Worldwide does not fan embers of ethnic or regional bias, but rather seeks to foster the socio economic supremacy or sovereignty of the Igbo land as a place capable of setting an enviable developmental standard, worthy of emulation by other regions.

In the words of the National Coordinator, IDUW, Chief Obioma Nnazor, Agu Eji Eje Mba Na Ehihe, “It is obvious that Ndigbo are creative, blessed and influentially prosperous.
“We are a people of industry and entrepreneurship distinction who have the magic wand to turn coal to diamond anywhere we find ourselves.
“God has used nature to endow ‘Ala Igbo’ so much that it is like every and anything good comes from there.”

With a deep sense of pride and responsibility, the barritoned leader proceeded;
“The vision of IDUW is poised for all the afforementioned, but excludes any separatist principle and / or agenda.
“The unity and growth of Nigeria are important to us, just as the need for Igbos to reach home with the wealth they throw elsewhere for strategic development is.”
As a major admonition in the urgency of now, the Union is of the view that when wealth is kept far from home, the impact of that wealthy person can never be felt by his kinsmen in his homeland.
It is for this reason that ‘Igbo Ruo Ulo’ is conscientising Igbos everywhere to emulate the values of the Chinese who take their homeland as priority.
It significantly also believes that IDUW’s vision and moves will preserve the cultural and linguistic heritage of the Igbo nation, even while ensuring that Igbos continue to trail the blaze in various fields of human endeavour in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.

Its slogan, “K’ ANYI DOZIE ALAIGBO” speaks volumes of the core mandate of this fast growing umbrella union.
IDUW Coordinator, in consolidating his advisory warning to Ndigbo during this extensive chat with Timeswatch, cited certain recent ugly events around the country which brutally diminished the wealth of some Igbos and ruptured their egos, one of which is the demolition of about 2000 properties in an area of Abuja by the authorities – a phenomenon he noted would not have transpired if the project was prudently situated anywhere at HOME.
