CRIME: EJIGBO DIVISION SET TO FLUSH CRIMINALS OUT

FOLLOWING the February 16th instantaneous response of the men of the Ejigbo division of the Lagos State Police Command to a scene of rape which led to the arrest of four of the rapists and the subsequent order of the commissioner of police, CP. Hakeem Odumosu for the rest of the criminals to be nabbed, the men and officers of the division are ready to initiate a manhaunt for the criminal elements in the area.

In a command press release of 19th February signed by CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos State, CP Odumosu had sequel to the arrest of the suspects, commanded the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Akinsola Ogunwale to immediately go after the fleeing members of the rape gang and rid Ejigbo area of criminals who go about inflicting pains, especially those who commit rape, perpetrate domestic violence and defilement.

The CP also directed that the matter be transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for discreet investigation and prosecution, while assuring that the command is ready to partner other government agencies and interest groups in the fight against social vices.

The mother of the victim of the gang rape, Tawa Abbey of 200 Mafo Bus Stop, Idimu road, Ejigbo, had on the sad day reported the case of the rape at the Ejigbo division, at about 10pm which led to police prompt action.
The exhibits recovered from the suspects, Jimoh Kamoru, Lukman Basit A, Aleshinloye Sunday and Ifeoluwa Alabi, all males and within 16 years bracket, are cutlasses and substances suspected to be indian hemp.

The gang had used the dangerous weapons to force the victim to a premises before forcefully having a canal knowledge of her.
