POSTERITY has certainly began to judge Hon. Akinyemi Afeez Akintunde right and flowers he touched before have left their beautiful fragrance on his good hands as the National Youth Council of Nigeria deemed it fit to bestow the prestigious Award of Excellence on him yesterday, for his unalloyed supports to his immediate community, trademark achievements in humanitarian service and his leadership dexterity.
The NYCN award which was presented to him in Lagos came just as he prepared to follow the footstep of his father who was first Local Govt Chairman of Alimosho and made historical marks, legacy which successive grassroot administrators have found difficult to surpass.
Triple A as Akinyemi is fondly called by people of different quarters of Lagos is one of those iconic indigenes of Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area, presently seeking to occupy the chairmanship position soonest on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Honourable Akinyemi while appreciating the NYCN for the award promised that rather than being carried away by this confernment, he will become more challenged to perform deeds that will better the lots of the people and catalyse social economic development, stressing that his ambition to get political power resulted from a deep seated desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth and well being of all people.
AAA used the medium to advise the youths of Nigeria to eschew violence and crime while emulating the ways of good leaders, past and present.
