AIG Augustina N. Ogbodo, PSC, has officially assumed office as the 53rd
Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos.

AIG Ogbodo, a distinguished and highly respected officer in Nigerian policing, took over from AIG Ogundele J. Ayodeji, under whose dynamic leadership the FCID Annex Lagos achieved significant progress, a press release signed today, by ASP Mayegun Aminat , anipr , Police Public Relations Officer revealed.

A native of Enugu South Local Government Area in Enugu State, AIG Ogbodo has made history as the first female officer to head the FCID Annex Lagos.

Before her promotion to AIG, she was CP Ebonyi State with outstanding performances. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Assistant Inspector General in charge of the Maritime Police Command at the Force Headquarters Annex, Obalende. Her tenure there was marked by her unyielding stance against corruption, harassment, and misconduct.
She ensured the maintenance of high professional and ethical standards within the maritime sea economy.

AIG Ogbodo holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as a Diploma in Police Science from the Staff College, Jos , and throughout her career, she attended numerous professional development courses and served in various police Commands/Formations across the country.

As she assumed her new role at the FCID Annex Lagos, AIG Ogbodo called on well-meaning citizens to collaborate with the Police in the fight against crime and the promotion of justice. She is dedicated to strengthening operational effectiveness at the FCID towards enhancing public safety, and maintaining the integrity of the Police Force.
AIG Ogbodo is committed to her vision of fostering a secure environment for all Nigerians, while upholding professionalism, integrity, and transparency in every aspect of policing.

Operating an open-door policy, AIG Ogbodo is eager to build synergy and cooperation among sister agencies and remains fully dedicated to the security and well-being of the public. With her vast experience across all facets of Nigerian policing, she is resolutely focused on achieving the shared goals of the IGP in enhancing the security and operational capacity of FCID Annex, Lagos and other police formations nationwide.
