One of the iconic development practitioners in Nigeria whose developmental contributions span decades and traverse political leaderships is Alh. Aminu Babakusa.
Worthy son of Kano state Nigeria, he put in years of quality services in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation – NNPC (Now NNPC-L), bestriding various positions and tackling herculean tasks like a colossus through the departments; services which unarguably resulted in the developmental transitions and upgrade of the oil sector in Nigeria.
It is however impossible to write the history of the oil sector of Nigeria without mentioning this tireless thinker who passionately comprised the Think Tank that masterminded the processes leading to the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and some activities that managed various petroleum industry crises.
Vastly experienced and widely educated Islam icon and global mind, Alh. Babakusa can aptly be called a professional globe trotter whose job and quest for advanced knowledge had taken to almost all the continents of the world.
In the spirit of national integration, this highly respected man of industry also plied his professionalism in various blue chip firms (oil category mostly) before he decided to further induce national growth through entrepreneurial feats.
Consequently, his various private investments such as the Acacia Holdings Ltd, Medical Plastics Ltd, etc have grossly continued to boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the nation, even Per Capita Income through employment/jobs generation.
Suffice it to say that preparatory to this great era, Babakusa had visited countries such as USA, France, UK,Greece, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Finland, Norway, Sweden, UAE, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Argentina, Portugal, Turkey, Brazil, Israel, Kuwait, Quatar, Ireland, China, Taiwan, Mexico, Iran, Venezuela, South Korea, Belgium and Hungary. These are apart from his visit to several African countries such as Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, Ivory coast, etc.
No matter how much we strive to compress the extensive profile of this cross disciplinary influencer, it will be suicidal not to motivate others by affirming his Chairmanship of different companies.
Member of various professional / social bodies which include, Nigerian Association of Masters of Business Administration (NAMBA); Institute of Marketing, UK; Nigerian Institute of Management, Praskills, Lagos; Ikoyi club, Apapa club, IBB Golf Club, Abuja, Shell Club, Warri, etc.
Happily married Babakusa speaks Hausa, English, French and Arabic languages.
Founder, International Center for Islamic Culture and Education, ICICE, Alh. Babakusa remains Board Member, – Ro -Razi Medical University, Kano, Board Member, Capital Science Academy, Board Member, Prime University, Abuja, etc
Patriot Par Excellence, he bagged his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Administration from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, after a qualitative preliminary primary and post primary educational trainings at Govt.College, Kano (Rumfa College), and Dantata Primary School, Kano.
On account of these and his countless humanitarian and philanthropic works, home and abroad, Timeswatch proudly conferred the Meritorious Statesmanship and Productivity Award, MSPA on him.
