The imbroglio surrounding the disputed over one acre community land in Igando, Igando/Ikotun Local Council Development Area has gotten messier as the Lagos Rapid Response Squad, RRS allegedly followed land grabbers to achieve forceful entry yesterday.

Reports reaching Timeswatch had it that a team of operatives of the RRS stormed the disputed parcel of land in company with those who want to forcefully possess the plots earmarked for a community town hall decades ago.

According to reports from sources around the scene, it took the resistance of Igando youths and the stern warning of the monarch of Igando who rushed to the scene, to stop the land grabbers and the RRS from achieving their criminal act.
Timeswatch had earlier reported that a certain son of Igando unlawfully sold the said land to a powerful Lagosian who later took back his money, after hearing the advice of the monarch; and that the land was sold by one recalcitrant Lawal for a 100 million naira.

Nevertheless, several youths of Igando Land have vowed to resist all attempts by any one to illegally take a land meant for public good with their blood, especially as no particular court order has mandated such a takeover or occupation.

When Timeswatch visited the scene yesterday, heaps of sand and granite allegedly brought secretly by the grabbers for the purpose of fencing were seen.
