Cardoso High School, CHS, Ijora Badia will receive rester developmental support from now to stand enviable in the comity of great schools in Lagos.
This was affirmed by the President of the school’s Alumni Association, Peter Kelechi Nwogu during the 2022 End Of the Year Gathering(EOYG) with the theme ‘back to my root’.
According to Nwogu, the cardinal objectives of alumni group are to ensure the welfare of members and the wellbeing of the school which he said has been instrumental to moulding diverse professionals and leaders doing exploits at home and in the diaspora.
Highlighting the success mileage of CHSOSA, he pointed that year-in-year-out, advancement is recorded from all fronts.
The Public Relations Officer, Ikechukwu Nelson Ukejie while contributing asserted the preparedness of the association to heighten its Social Responsibilities to CHS, describing it as the best public school in Lagos state where champions are refined and sent forth.
Adding to the PRO’s superlative description, a one time mathematics teacher in the school, Alaba Okeleye Ogunfowokan stated that the CHSOSA is a family where discipline reigns supreme, stressing that anyone who violates the codes of ethics is abruptly deregistered.
“We must be good role models”, he stated.
In similar vein, Lucky Nwadei of 1986 set pointed that the 2022 EOYG is a development from the past ones judging by organisation and ambience of the venue.
He also disclosed that he believes in the capacity of younger ones to handle the affairs of the Alumni owing to their energy and commitment to do great exploits.
“I was to run for the presidency of the association at a time but had to drop the ambition when a trustworthy younger candidate presented himself.
“I am of the view that older ones should show class and provide supervision while the younger people run the affairs”, Nwadei stressed.
The current Vice Principals, Academics and Administration were also on ground to witness the great convergence which took place at the exotic Event Wing of Ritalori Hotel and Suites, Surulere, Lagos.
According to the VP Admin, who spoke on behalf of the school, they were not just there to party but also to express appreciation to the Alumni organ.
Various sets of alumni gathered for the end year rendezvous and meeting where so much was provided for dining and wining.
Music was also supplied by a super Disc Jockey who brought forth old music memories and caused general excitement and frenzied merrymaking in the tastefully decorated hall.
The highpoint of the gathering was the presentation of awards to deserving members to encourage them for better productivity and greater responsibility towards boosting the reputation of the school, even their individual relevance.
There was also a segment for budget presentation for accountability by the Exco.
This year the CHSOSA has at different times supplied seats and desks, even reconstructed the pillar suspending the water tank into a concrete form to make it safer, since the metal one was rusted and at the verge of collapse.
These are apart from inputs that positively rubbed off on the academic lives of the students.
