Osun miner and Managing Director/ CEO of Prince Olusegun Okedele Clean Mining Industries Ltd has hailed Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun for rapidly responding to his clarion call.

Okedele who addressed a team of press men at his Iragbiji, Osun state home at the weekend stated that the police helmsman treated the petition he forwarded to his office with such an urgency that speaks volumes of his commitment and Productivity.

According to him, treating the petition which carried the criminal and deadly acts of Tunde and Kunle Oyetola, siblings of the former governor Osun state is a big relief.

Okedele disclosed that the conducts of the duo, together with their agents warranted the petition to the IGP which reflected their repeated threats to his life, encroachment and forceful entry, willful destruction of farm , stealing of gold and other mineral resources from his mining title, etc.

Seeing this petition, the IGP instructed the Commissioner of Police to quickly wade into the matter, sequel to which he said palpable action had been initiated to tame the alleged criminals.

Talking about their conducts, Okedele affirmed that the lawless acts on his land started since 2019 and reached a crescendo when the Oyetolas instructed their security aides to chase him with guns when he dared to question their illegality sometime ago.

Continuing , Okedele stated that Tunde and Kunle Oyetola have continued to marshal forms of dangerous people unto his land and refused all forms of traditional , official entreaties for them to desist from their criminality.

” Even the Officer in Charge of the Federal Mining Office in Osogbo officially wrote them on 23rd Oct. 2023 to vacate my mineral title, but such weighty appeal fell on deaf ears, as Tunde and Kunle Oyetola, their agents were bent on their atrocious operations.

“Emboldened, they assembled industrial gold mining, washing machines and even destroyed landmark boundaries in their desperation”, Okedele said.

Before this latest police action, Okedele pointed that Kunle , Tunde Oyetola and their men have disregarded the invite of the Assistant Inspector General of Police , AIG, Zone XI, who also got a similar petition and wanted to do justice to the matter, stating that at a time, a team of law enforcement officers from different outfits which included the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC stormed the farm during their illicit mining operation , and they had to flee , abandoning their equipment, sequel to which the police surveillance team laid siege for them before the IG’s signal directing the CP to expedite action came.

Further, Okedele disclosed that the worrisome thing is that while the police intensifies efforts after them, the agents of Tunde , Kunle Oyetola, Alh. Is – haq Afunso , Sola etc, go about town boasting of having what they called “Abuja Connection” with which they said they will neutralise all police actions.

Continuing, Okedele recalled how the erstwhile Senior Special Adviser to Governor Oyetola on Natural and Mineral Resources, Wahab Oyeniyi warned Tunde and Kunle Oyetola to desist from encroaching his farm for the purpose of their illegal mining in vain, after the SSA visited the site and discovered that he (Okedele) had acquired relevant documents and filed for an application for SSML mineral title with Federal Mining Cadastre office, Abuja.

Calling on the police authorities to prove to all that there are no sacred cows when the law must take its full course, stressing that the Oyetolas cannot claim not have received adequate police invitation as he was with the police team that took the invite to Amorit estate along Ede road where they live, and that it was duly received and signed by a woman who had same surname.

Okedele used the moment to thank all the hands that have been on deck for justice not to be denied him since the inception of the matter.

Recall that Okedele is one of those who publicly condemned the attack of former governor Oyetola during the EndSars protest.

He also has several media reports supporting the govt of Gboyega Oyetola while he held sway as Osun Governor, the reason he remains astounded over the level of atrocities perpetrated by Kunle and Tunde Oyetola against him.
