It will not be out of place to state that Ndigbo in FESTAC, Amuwo – Odofin LGA are in for some pleasant experience in terms of the headship of the Igbo community there.
This is because the paramount traditional head of Ndigbo in that expansive domain of Lagos state, His Royal Majesty, Eze Prosper Chukwuka (Eze Ome Ihe Ukwu) is not just a man of character and impeccable integrity, but also a man flowing with a huge milk of human kindness, even an unmatchable philanthropic endowment.
Eze Chukwuka, a business colossus and leader par excellence emerged behind the saddle of the leadership of Ndigbo in FESTAC town on the basis of his enviable human qualities and golden antecedents.
And true to these submissions, he had began to prove his mettle and manifest with wondrous charitable works worthy of a compassionate Eze who is driven by collective or public good.
These are apart from his qualitative traditional and cultural dispositions that readily reveal his Igbo ancestry!
As a global mind, he recently organized an empowerment program which brought together over 100 disabled people with varying degrees of needs, whose tears were eventually wiped by the peculiar giving of this outstanding philanthropist.
That empowerment arrangement of course, can never be over emphasised as it remains a bewildering experience in the annals of traditional headship in that vast Lagos enclave and beyond.
But soft spoken Eze Prosper Chukwuka is never ruled by his capacity as he remains an unassuming monarch of Ndigbo raging with the spirit of excellence.
When Timeswatch painstakingly contacted him for a brief chat, he was reluctant to dwell on his good deeds as he simply referred to them as acts of God.
According to this magnanimous Eze, leadership should be a call to sacrifice and exemplary living.
He pointed that his mandate is to ensure the well being of Ndigbo and to foster that level of unity that breeds love among all nationalities interacting as Nigerians, in Amuwo and everywhere.
When asked if he has any cordial relationship with the local government chairman of Amuwo Odofin, the LGA where FESTAC is , he retorted saying that the local government is in safe hands as the Executive Chairman represents development, unity and progress, qualities he stressed are visible in the quality of developmental projects noticeable everywhere in FESTAC (Amuwo Odofin).
Eze Chukwuka however ended by calling on Ndigbo in FESTAC to be their brothers’ keepers, and to remain law abiding trail blazers in business, politics and others.
However, he extended a special salutation to the Executive Governor of Lagos state, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwoolu, for his sagacity in piloting a multi ethnic state that Lagos is, praying that God Almighty will guide and guard him to excel all through against all odds.
