A U.S based Nigerian statesman and convener of SpeakUp Nigeria group, Amb.Steve Nwose, has condemned tendencies by the ruling elites to form a One Party political structure in Nigeria.
Nwose during a recent online interview with Timeswatch correspondent , revealed what he called a negative agglomeration of political allies just to subdue principles of proper democratic system, urging Nigerians to arise in defence of the nations fledgling democracy.
According to Nwose, national development and leadership stakeholders at home and in the diaspora have roles to play to tame the political tyrants and curtail their excesses.
Speaking he said, ” The situation in Nigeria is worrisome.
It is odd that the major leaders in the land are running into same umbrella.
“Their aim is certainly not for good, because they are united for clandestine personal and political gains at the detriment of the masses.
“How can evil be thriving in the land and the leaders stay mute as though all is well?
Amb.Steve emphasized that there is no better time than this political year preceding another crucial election, stressing that the 2027 election is a make or mar which will be like a contest between the forces of good and evil – nation Builders and ruiners.
He however advised all well meaning people to be constitutional and patriotic by getting their PVCs ready for voting, pointing that the interest of the nation supercedes that of some selfish individuals who only desire endless acquisition of wealth to feed their greed.
