Lagos chapter of the United Gospel Churches Association of Nigeria, UGCAN has held its maiden conference to set agenda for improved life for ministers, others.
The gathering which held at the Rockview Hotel, FESTAC town, Friday, also served as an orientation and familiarisation meeting.
With the theme ‘gathering the rejected stone, assembling power generators’, the conference had ministers from the length and breadth of Lagos state, even from outside the state.

Speaking at the well attended ministerial summit, the State Chairman, UGCAN, Apostle Dr.Adigun Adeshola disclosed that the mission of the UGCAN is quite clear, and does not seek to compete with existing bodies.
He noted that the UGCAN will rather complement what the PFN, CAN have been doing, while also pursuing ways to ensure improvement.
According to him, the ministers and the entire body of Christ need a better deal in life, which is why the UGCAN must marshall all lawful instruments and methodologies to facilitate this deal.

National Organising Secretary, Apostle Dr. Amos Akinwale in contributing, expressed satisfaction at the turn out of participants, and pointed that the conference served as an avenue for ministers to familiarize with the state and national executives.
He added that the theme of the event is assertive of the vision of UGCAN that is poised to position the people of God for his wondrous works.

The State Women Leader, Rev.Dr. Bridget Oladiran in all excitement said that the conference had stimulated her for necessary actions, stressing that she will ensure strategic evangelism to call women for uncommon exploits in life.

First International female President of the group, Bishop Dr. Priscilla Otuya, in similar vein, described the UGCAN as a necessary evolutionary development aimed at revolutionising the church, perfecting works for legitimate benefits for ministers and Christians at large.
Bishop Otuya emphasised that UGCAN has a broad perspective about pursuing spiritual, socio economic, leadership well being of not just members, but Nigerians in general.
She averred that the time for the body of Christ to discard obsolete ways to embrace ways capable of helping them reap the bountiful benefits latent in the spheres of life.
“As a body, we are out to enhance the body of Christ through modalities that will rejig obsolete structures laid down by the founding fathers of Christianity.
“For instance it is sorry that many a Christian have the notion that indulging in political leadership is bad.
“But indeed, it is important for Christians to compete and play meaningfully in the spheres of public administration and leadership, so as to righteously and prudently direct the affairs of their worlds”, she buttressed.
Otuya however invited christians across facets to come aboard, saying that the UGCAN is the Next Big Thing.
