A clarion call has emanated for citizens of all strata and callings to align as patriots to pray for the good of Nigeria.
This call was made by Pastor (Dr.) Shiro Abosede, Secretary, Grassroots Movement for Tinubu – Christian Directorate, and Convener, APC Glorious Women – Nationwide; at the Nigerian Pastors Project, NPP (Nigeria and Diaspora), a special convention of the United Gospel Churches Association of Nigeria, UGCAN, and the International Council of Apostles and Bishops for African Regeneration, ICABAR, held last week in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Advocating ecumenism and love for fatherland at the program, the politically conscious cleric stated that the current situation of the country requires collective intercession of all children of God.
According to her, standing aloof to only dispense criticism will neither augur well nor avail much, emphasizing the need for observation and positive participation in socio economic and political affairs.
Abosede who is also the Convener of Glorious Generation Initiative, and an Executive of Soul Winning Ministry International – intercessors that organise massive yearly programs to pray for Lagos state and Nigeria at large; admonished Nigerians to key into the good policies of Govt and learn how to reasonably push the leaders to do the right things through objective criticism, emphasizing the place of prayers in personal and public affairs.
“I am particularly happy about what UGCAN and ICABAR are doing. They are consciously bringing God’s people together for true worship and a Christian life without divisions.
“In our own organisation we are equally non segregational. Our Muslim brothers and sisters are allowed to mount the pulpit to preach God’s word and pray”, she stressed.
Speaking at the program, Abosede highlighted transformation agenda and policies of the President Tinubu led govt and tasked citizens to exploit the various opportunities by getting involved.
She pointed Education, Security, Infrastructure, Health and Empowerment as some of the numerous areas where the President of Nigeria had already made significant impact, which citizens must enjoy.
“The different empowerment initiatives, the loans, the skill acquisition programs are multiple and available, even at local govt wards level.
“If you don’t get close you will not know what obtains. You will stay far feeling abandoned and complaining that govt is doing nothing.
“It is high time we came together to support the process of peace and development in Nigeria”, she disclosed.
