At a brief but glamorous occasion yesterday, His Lordship, Bishop Dr.Joseph Ighodalo, was appointed the Nigerian chapter President of the International Council of Apostles and Bishops for Africa Regeneration, ICABAR.
The event which took place at the Iju, Lagos office of the Bishop attracted executives of the United Gospel Churches Association of Nigeria, UGCAN, chief amongst who is the first International female president, Bishop Priscilla Otuya, MON.
Others present included youth leaders, entertainment industry chieftains, media practitioners, clergymen, etc.
Presenting the official letter and certificate of appointment to him on behalf of UGCAN, Bishop Otuya expressed confidence that Ighalo possessed the spiritual, moral, intellectual and ministerial wherewithal to run the exalted office.
She pointed that passion for church renaissance resident in Bishop Ighalo reflect in his principles and religio – socio cultural impartations, especially such that re engineer the minds of the youths who will lead tomorrow.
Responding, His Lordship, Ighalo intoned his joy for what he termed an opportunity to right wrongs in Christendom, and achieve a strategic reconfiguration that will herald the order akin to the gospel and true purpose of Christianity.
“Church leaders have missed it. I am not left out.
“We must begin to face the essence of Christianity, not religion.
“What the situation looks like now is trading or doing business, the reason Christ flogged people out of the house of God in that Bible account”, he stressed.
Dr. Henry Emeka Obidi, a veteran movie maker also emerged the National Coordinator, National Christian Youths Coalition – youth wing of UGCAN.
