Men of the Nigeria Police have warned parents to monitor their children and wards keenly these days.
This warning came at a parley of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC held in Ikeja penultimate week.
Officers from the Ikeja Division invited to the event took time to highlight the dangers of allowing youths to freely remain in harmful agglomeration.
An S.P.O who spoke more authoritatively urged that families should ensure that they impart morals and principles that will not be easily eeoded by negative social habits, stressing that the society has gone haywire nowadays, especially as families are unable to checkmate their offsprings adequately.
Particularly, the Senior Police Officer referred to one Bobby Henry, a gay suspect they released after thorough counseling.
According to him, Bobby Henry refused to return for further counseling despite the fact that he was asked to; situation which showed he has fallen back into illicit ways, and possibly changed environment to continue living dirty.
He also pointed that the day Bobby was arrested, he would have been lynched to death by irate youths who saw his gay antics as threat to normalcy, saying that even the police is worried for Henry, as he is prone to mob action anywhere he is caught.
The PCRC chairman capped up the addresses by thanking all the stakeholders who honoured their invitation.
He expressed satisfaction on the turnout and deliberations, professing optimism that the agenda set at the crucial meeting will touch lives.
