A wing of a cooperative society, Irewumi 04 has allegedly withheld members benefits in contravention of its own rule.
According to some of the aggrieved members who shared their concerns with Timeswatch reporter penultimate week, the Cooperative Society failed to conform to its rule which mandates it to pay investment and savings to members who officially declare withdrawal as members after 6 months of that official declaration.
The complainants went on to disclose that though many tendered official withdrawal notices as stipulated, as advance information, the Society has yet to do the needful about a year after.
The palpable worry of these lamentors stemmed from their sudden realization that the Chairman of the Cooperative and his Voice no longer feature at their scheduled weekly meetings where savings and investments have continued unabated under certain appointees.
But when Timeswatch reached out to the said chairman, Mr. Costa Adeshina, he stated that he had given a 3 – week date to them for disbursement.
It is not strange for people to express such worry under a precarious situation, given that shocking happenstances abound relating to money or funds everywhere.
