It can never be gainsaid that this current APC led federal govt has been recorded as one with a myriad demerits and ill performance judging by the glaring ugly state of the nation.
Suffice it to say that apart from the claim of some of the loyalists of this administration that the dwindling fortunes from oil sales unfavourably impacted the economy, this leadership failed to deliver on its election promises.

From its inability to fix power, to the failure to arrest insecurity and then, that of pounding and mounting poverty.
In fact, rather than end the menace of terrorists and the Boko Haram insurgents, the nation witnessed upsurge in the such criminal activities, especially as there arose splinter groups such as the bandits, kidnappers and ferocious Fulani herders whose sanguinary expeditions across Nigerian communities escalated.
Kidnappers, even blood letting herdsmen operated with the effrontery that suggested they had state backing.

At some point, criminal aggressors overwhelmed security apparatus, when they invaded villages and stormed police and military formations, including the famous Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna.
Away from those gory days of precarious developments, the days marking the terminal phase of the Buhari administration brought so much pains and fear upon the polity, so much so that it seamed as though no one was in charge of the socio economic affairs of the nation.

The Nigerian University students stayed at home for close to nine months due to the FG – ASUU face off which lingered meaninglessly because the Minister of education paid little or no attention to the unsavoury situation, despite the vital nature of the that sector.
Soon after, the senseless fuel scarcity which brought frustration upon families and organisation ensued and has lingered till date.
It is commonplace that today, Kerosine believed to be the cooking fuel for the common man, is costlier than all other petroleum products, an obvious proof that the welfare of the masses is not of paramount govt attention.

The most dazing is the latest satanic monetary policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, which led to naira redesign.
This one govt stride has made Nigerians poorer, created confusion, even frustration and affected businesses adversely.
Senselessly, Nigerians now buy their own naira as a very scarce commodity.
The initial collection and withdrawal of the old notes, and the refusal of the authorities to release the new notes into circulation is an abracadabra and robbery of some sort which created bizzare scarcity and an operation- oppress/ siphon – whoever – you – can situation.

Shockingly PoS agents sell 5000 for as much as 2,500, and 10,000 for about 4,000; a vicious situation that appears supervised by the FG and the CBN.
And when concerned citizens ran to the Supreme Court to seek succour and got a ruling reversing the painful fiscal or monetary regime, due to the supreme courts order for the old notes to circulate pari Passu with the new till later this year, at least to ease the agonising effect, not the CBN nor President Buhari responded in respect.

Sadly, as the deafening silence of the FG and CBN subsists, Nigerians are at the receiving end, the days leading to the expiry of this govt seems to be the most torturous since independence.
