Notable activist and National Coordinator, Activists for Good Governance, Comrade Declan Ihekaire has described President Tinubu’s attempt to expunge his name from the list of those who caused Nigeria’s present economic woes as ridiculous.
Declan who spoke via telephone with Timeswatch yesterday said that President Tinubu produced Buhari, presented him as the needed and most qualified figure, and was godfather in that govt till the end.
He however expressed shock that Mr. President is shying away from the truth.
“The political party in power has been the same since 2015.
It has not changed.
“This party (APC), not any other, has supervised the processes and policies that have made Nigerians poorer.
“The current pain, hunger in the land is a function of their decision, actions or inactions.
” It is unfortunate for the man at the helms of affairs to try to dissociate himself from the overall schemings of their great political family”, Declan affirmed.
In a related outburst, a statesman, Dr. Femi Adebanji pointed that since President Tinubu rode on the back of NADECO to political prominence, he has never relinquished power, because he had influenced leaderships across boards , but has had difficulty upholding the tenets of democratic governance which are accountability, transparency, etc.
“If I must speak on the bleeding economy, I will say he made Nigeria bleed”, Adebanji stressed.
