B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G – HANDICAPPED DELTA POLICE YET TO STORM PLACE WHERE A YOUNG MAN WAS SHOT DEAD 5 MONTHS AFTER

Almost 5 months ago since a young Nigerian(over 30 yrs old) , Lucky Amauche Ezeji was gruesomely hacked down by suspected cultists, neither has there been a serious investigation expedition nor a major arrest.
Late Amauche was shot down in Kwale, a rustic community in Delta state at about 8 pm on Christmas day.

That fateful night, the deceased had gone with his pregnant wife to his grandma’s home for the yuletide celebration, but rushed out to get his phone chargers from his residence meters away, when he was struck by his killers.
Timeswatch preliminary findings revealed that some nocturnal assailants trailed and shot him on mistaken identity due to an ensuing cult clash between members of the Eiye and Black Axe Confraternities.
But no further investigations proved the deceased to be connected to cultism.
The killing of the Accountancy Graduate of Delta State Polytechnic is not the saddest thing, but the inability of the police to even strive to nab his killers despite the intelligence supplied them from different quarters.

Quite abysmally, men and officers of the Delta state command, right from the very Kwale division where the murder was first incidented, to the headquarters in Asaba , behaved as though killing was a norm in the state.
Their penchant for money collection far outweighed their zeal for investigation towards apprehension.

Timeswatch realized that at various points, police men and officers took monies from the mother of the deceased and only vainly made assurances that they would take actions.
Even the calls log from the phone of the deceased extracted by the mother of the slain Amauche with so much money was jettisoned simply because the poor and grieving woman pleaded for a little slash from the 50,000 per number the police charged as fee for tracking to possibly get at the killers who obviously may be hiding around town; despite her assurance of mobility.

The police of the command insisted on the 50,000 per number, and abandoned the matter.
Come this weekend, the families of Lucky Amauche Ezeji will take his corpse home for burial far away in Imo state in hopelessness and pain; uncertain if those who cut the life of their son short , never letting him welcome his first ever child, having perpetually separated him from his spouse, will ever be brought to book.
When this interment transpires, will it be celebration time for the numerous murderous youths in Kwale , and other parts of Delta who will relax in the euphoria of an un policed enclave, where security and safety are not seen as constitutional citizens prerogative , but rather as commodities that only the strong and financially fit can earn?
A big question therefore dangles glaringly for the Nigeria Police authorities to answer, lt is – ” does Nigeria Police, Delta Command a ” cash and carry” outfit?
Unsavoury treats are usually accorded complainants who are unable to dole out funds at most police stations in Delta.
It doesn’t matter if a head had been chopped off; just as the Investigating Police Officer , IPO at the Kwale division, Udofia Kufure who first received Lucky’s mother , took 100,000 , 00 just to do police work, a task that was never carried out despite helpful information provided for arrests.
