In order to augment the security excellence of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, with which he has proved to Nigerians in Lagos that the centre of excellence, as Lagos is known is not a Haven for crime and criminality, men of the Isheri Oshun division, acting on the directives of the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, who assumed office only a couple of weeks ago, yesterday, on a rapid response move, after a distress call came from a neighborhood, bursted telecoms vandals who vandalised a telecoms mast.

Timeswatch investigations discovered that when the team of policemen eventually stormed the area, some of the vandals fled using the cover of the darkness; owing to the fact that the nocturnal robbers operated at about 3:45 am (early hours) of the day.
But the tactical team of Isheri Oshun division were able to arrest a suspect with over 21 telecoms batteries already loaded in a vehicle to be conveyed to their buyers.

From Timeswatch findings, each of the batteries cost as much as #500,000 (five hundred thousand naira).
It was also gathered that the vandals are regulars in that business and have operated in different areas before luck ran out of them in Isheri Osun.

With this success, the Isheri Osun division has already sent warning signals to criminals to desist or relocate.
The new DPO has also shown signs that he and his men are out to ensure an atmosphere where the people will sleep with their two eyes closed.

From all indications, the matter has been transferred to the appropriate quarters for further investigations that will fish out fleeing suspects and forestall re-occurence.
