AS a mark of responsible/exemplary leadership, care and respect for compatriots, and display of raw Nigerian patriotism, the Nigerian Consulate-General in New York, recently sent a condolence message to the President of the International Foundation for Refugees and Migration, iFREM, Ezekiel Elom Ogbonna over the death of his father, Elder Ogbonna Udu Nde.
The condolence piece which was signed by the Deputy Consul-General, Ambassador Nicholas A.Ella, Esq. described the deceased elder Nigerian as one who left an enviable and emulable legacy as a devoted community leader and a cultural enthusiast who championed the development of his people. It read, ” As we mourn the departure of Pa.Ogbonna unto glory, we also take solace in the fact that Papa left behind endearing memories that will make us all proud .
Papa was was a community leader and a devoted cultural enthusiast who championed development of his people.
In the same way, he was a staunch christian evangelist during his lifetime and founded the Holy Holy Methodist Church in Oshiagu Amai and its affiliates within the presbytery of Umuemama in the Methodist Diocese of Ngbo , Ohukwu LGA of Ebonyi state”.
The condolence was sent on behalf of staff and family.
