A pan Christians organisation, the United Gospel Churches Association of Nigeria, UGCAN has raised a strong clamour for the creation of Anioma state to augment the South East region.
The First Female President, Bishop Dr. Priscilla Otuya, who is also President , Mothers of the Nation, emphasised the need for the endorsement of this request which is being currently spearheaded by distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to Bishop Otuya, the creation of Anioma state will represent a vision of progress and unity, underpinned by faith and governance.
“Anioma meaning ‘Good Land’ reflects aspirations of prosperity and abundance, echoing the biblical promises of Deuteronomy 8:7-10”, Otuya highlighted.
Further enumerating the beauty and amazement that Anioma will portray on its creation, she pointed that the living God transcends religious affiliations as a spirit who requires true worship based on righteousness and faithfulness , regardless of denominational labels .
Otuya boasted that Anioma state can uphold these universal principles in its governance and societal norms : that it would foster an environment of justice , integrity and respect for all beliefs : that Anioma can cultivate a culture where God’s presence is honored in all facets of public and private life.
Continuing, the fire spitting Numero Uno Mother of the Nation said that the geographical location of Anioma beyond River Ethiope connects it to the Biblical prophecy in Zephaniah 3:10, which anticipates the gathering of God’s dispersed people, prescribing her as a land where diversity converges into unity under divine guidance ; disclosing that the agglomeration of its diverse population in a political configuration can help fulfill her vision of becoming a gathering place for all who seek God’s blessings.
Shedding light on the core essence of Anioma, Otuya said it is basically for the collective good, prosperity and economic sovereignty of Ndigbo / God’s children worldwide , as they continue to hold the torch and trail the blaze in the industrial , entrepreneurship and technological advancement of Nigeria.
She however saluted distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko and all well meaning stakeholders behind this great vision, noting that the time for the Igbo nation in general to enjoy equilibrium in the socio political cum economic mathematics of Nigeria has come.
Otuya therefore affirmed that when this important square peg is put in square hole via this significant creation, the entire Ndigbo of Nigeria will blossom, attain full potentials and join to lift Nigeria to a pedestal for global reckon.
Finalising, she reiterated the resolve of UGCAN to promote actions that encourage wellbeing, welfare and all faith based socio economic actions capable of transforming the living matrix of God’s people in Nigeria and Africa.
“I am Anioma, a proud Igbo of the Nigerian nation.
“Anioma has existed in our consciousness age long. We are waiting for its glorious constitutional manifestation as a great state of the federal republic of Nigeria.
“UGCAN while waiting for this to happen will not relent in using its tentacles to drum support for this quest meant to foster peace and prosperity in Nigeria”, Otuya professed.
