A crusade designed to Heal, Empower, Love and Promote Nigeria at a time when many a citizen has lost hope in the Nigerian system held at the weekend in Lagos.
The meeting convened by a faith based group, Mothers of the Nation held at Ikotun, a town in the largest local govt area of the state with the theme “second chance for women”; and was attended by select and elect ladies from different walks of life and stalks of the federation.
Mothers of the Nation used the H.E.L.P Nigeria crusade to orientate the women and empower them with fundamentals and the need to be awake to their responsibilities as home, community and nation builders.
The crusade was also used to charge the women to take their rightful places as species peculiarly created, blessed and endowed as firm and clairvoyant supports and guides for their husbands, spiritually, physically, intellectually, even economically.
Dr. Priscilla Otuya, President of the group, speaking about the event, noted that the crusade is a conference packaged to emancipate women from mental slavery and encourage them to be active players and trend setters in their worlds rather remaining as dependent or helpless citizens.
“The MON crusade is a departure from the known norm which has beclouded the people to believe that crusades are mere convocation of praying and preaching groups for the purpose of attracting converts.
” Ours is a departure from that and a factual cum authoritative eye opener based on real Bible principles, which will foster understanding and true faith”, Otuya reiterated.
As parts of the gains of the convergence, she pointed that the theme of the programme ‘second chance for women reflects the expository dimension of the MON crusade that will inculcate knowledge based education as against the stereotyped debilitating and oftentimes misleading schooling system primarily imposed by powers to hold folks bound .
“Our crusades will target to liberate the women through psychological and economic empowerment that will take them from being core dependent people and liabilities, to such who will make meaningful inputs and contributions as super spouses and mothers of the nation.
” We believe that every woman is special and tasked by God to be respectful and also respectable, the reason we are imparting our great ladies for impacts in life as loving wives and honourable mothers.
Otuya however highlighted further that some of the issues on the agenda to make Mothers of the Nation women outstanding include education and ICT based training, democracy and political sensitization and social enterprise empowerment aimed at improving the lots of women.
The Kingdom Women University is also one of the projects lined up for future execution.
The crusade which lasted hours was characterised with Bible reading and discussion segments to consolidate the essence of the sitting.
Appeals were made to mothers to shun wild and wasteful ways, and to always ensure that they condemn evil practices, sinful and corrupt ways starting from their homes, so as to build a better Nigeria.
