With tensions rising ahead of the Ibusa Youths of Igbuzo election in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta state, Ibusa youths have plan to protest over the alleged plan by the Oshimili North Local Government Chairman to use the office of Delta State Commissioner of Youths development to disrupt the forth coming youth election and impose their candidate on the people.

To register their grievance, the youths plan to hold a peaceful protest from Ibusa to Government house as they openly accused the Commissioner for Youths, Barr. Thankgod Trakiriowei, and also local government Executive Chairman, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie an indigene of allegedly trying to sponsor crisis in the forth coming youths’ leadership election in the community, but the Ibusa youths have vowed that the Commissioner for Youths cannot conduct their election for them.

The youths accused Esewezie of trying to use the office of the state Commissioner of Youths Development to create crisis in the youths leadership and disrupt the peaceful conduct of the forth coming youths election in Ibusa which they vowed to resist. During the press briefing of yesterday by the out-going Chairman of Ibusa Youths Council,Comrade Ifeanyi Asiodu, he called on Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to call the Commissioner for Youths and local government council chairman to order to avoid crisis in the community.

The youths who planned a peaceful protest in Ibusa, including the Government House, with placards having inscriptions like. “Ibusa Youths losing confidence in Innocent Esewezie”, “Enough is enough”, “Hon. Innocent Esewezie stop destabilizing your community”, “ our future will no longer be toyed with”, among others, maintained that their authentic youths election list cannot be altered.

The Igbuzo Youths have submitted their protest letter to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the State House of Assembly yesterday read in part: “We humbly write to submit a matter of grave concern to your elevated office for your routine efficient, dispassionate and proactive action.

“We wish to bring to your notice an attempt by disgruntled members of the Ibusa Youths Council in Oshimii North Local Government Area of Delta State (allegedly) sponsored by Hon. Innocent Esewezie to sow strife, instigate violence and unsettle the peace within Ibusa Community.

“We humbly request you to look into this report and call for a meeting to help resolve this issue amicably, so as to avoid civil unrest in Ibusa.

“Furthermore, we respectfully request you use the necessary government machinery to investigate the activities of Hon. Innocent Esewezie and curb his excesses in the community because when a system is overplayed, it will definitely boomerang.”

They warned that if nothing was done quickly, the community might erupt into unimaginable crisis.

In the light of this, we wish to intimate Your Excellency that our people are running out of patience and Let it be known that this act of brazen illegality will not stand by God’s grace.”
