The Constitutionally and genuinely Elected Executive Members and Leadership of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, has debunked the fake suspension of its planned “Nnoka Ndigbo” Great Achievers Awards scheduled to hold on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
The Community’s Leadership, while condemning the purported news that falsely claimed to have suspended and cancelled it’s “Nnoka Ndigbo” event holding next Sunday, at the Army Cantonment, Charity Bus Stop, Oshodi, Lagos , Oshodi , described the viral false social media online report as, “an act of Cyber bullying, fabricated total falsehood and diabolic handiwork of Mischief Makers and Imposters”, who they alleged had vowed and are hell bent on causing confusion and brewing crisis in the Community.
The President General , PG, of the Igbo Speaking Community Lagos State, High Chief Dr.( Amb) Sunday Udeh, made the announcement in a voice notes statement issued on behalf of the community.
Chief Udeh, who threatened to take up Cyber bullying legal actions against the perpetrators , also stated that the event which was being organized under the title of” Nnoka Ndigbo” , is a traditional Igbo seminar ,which has nothing to do with the falsely alleged conferment of chieftaincy titles .
According to Chief Udeh’s statement, “the announced intellectual gathering of eminent and prominent Igbo Stakeholders , will still hold as scheduled , as Nobody has suspended the event scheduled to take place by 12 noon at the Army Cantonment, Charity Bus Stop, Oshodi, Lagos, next Sunday.
Chief Udeh corrected the false notion being peddled by those he called Imposters and mischief Makers,noting that the high-profile event is not in breech of any laws of Lagos State but rather it is in compliance with freedom of gathering and Association ,as provided by, in the Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria .
Debunking the sham reasons purportedly listed by the imposters for their fake suspension, Chief Udeh ,who maintained that he remained the Authentic President General of the Igbo Speaking Community, explained that he has the Community’s Constitutional powers and the backing of his Executive Council ,as well as genuine Members of the Association ,to organize any intellectual symposium , seminars and events .
Mocking the cheap Chieftaincy propaganda being peddled by the Mischief Makers , Chief Udeh enjoined the public , particularly the government , to disregard the incitement by the political Jobbers, bootlickers and enemies of Peaceful cohabitation , Stating that the planned event has nothing to do with commercialization of Chieftaincy titles or Chieftaincy Coronation , hence therefore ,does not disregard or being contrary to Lagos State Government laws on chieftaincy titles .
Chief Udeh , who urged well meaning Igbo Sons and Daughters to rise and condemn the activities of saboteurs amongst Ndigbo, “wondered how some shameless gang of Mischief Makers ,who are not members of Igbo Speaking Community, are busy ganging up under different alias and falsely dishing out public statements for an Association they know next to nothing about “.
In the light of suspected obvious attempted infiltrations into the affairs of the Association, Chief Udeh , who is the President General , therefore called on the Lagos State Police Command and all other Security Agencies in the state , urging them to urgently intervene with the aim of apprehending the imposters for Cyber bullying , brewing of crisis in a peaceful organization, as well as conduct likely to cause breach of public peace .
Refuting the false narratives , Chief Udeh, further stressed that the Igbo Speaking Community Lagos State, is a Corporate Affairs Commission , CAC registered law-abiding organization , that is committed to upholding the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the extant laws of Lagos State, including laws regulating chieftaincy matters.
In a strong worded warning to the imposters and advise to members of the public, the leadership of the Igbo Speaking Community Lagos State, therefore stated categorically that it is viewing the actions of the imposters as subtle threats , vowing that it would not relent in taking necessary security and legal actions to forestall any act that would endanger the lives of its genuine Members and guests at the event venue on Sunday.
He further warned the mischief Makers that they and their faceless accomplices would be held liable for any activity or confusion arising from their devious plots.
Reassuring his Guests and Public ,the PG ,also stated that “Members of the public and all their invited guests are highly assured of a peaceful and lawful gathering , as well as their safety” .
The Igbo Speaking Community Lagos State ,further alerted security agencies, traditional institutions and the Lagos State Government , urging them to take note of the actions and social media activities of the gang of imposters and trouble makers , who they said are planning to rain anarchy in the state .
It also advised Ndigbo in Lagos State to remain calm, law-abiding and to disregard any fake Suspension publication emanating from unauthorized persons in connection with the Sunday event.
As at the time of filing this report, information that filtered from Chief Udeh’s Lawanson office , revealed that the alleged group of Mischief Makers , earlier today , being Friday , September 18, 2026, instigated a police invitation from the State police Command , in an alleged futile bid and efforts to arrest and seize the Community’s Principal Officers , so as to truncate the coming Sunday event.
