At a time when Nigerians are living under a precarious security atmosphere, report reaching Timeswatch has it that , Ifeanyi Sunday, a married adult male from Mbutu community in Isiala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State was arrested by police operatives and taken to a yet to be known place since February 3, 2026.
According to family sources, Sunday Ifeanyi , a palm oil dealer and Vigilante group member, was bundled under strange circumstances at the village market where he had gone for trading, and was later brought in a Hilux patrol van to his home where the police operatives first removed the CCTV camera attached to the house before searching the house, and later left with Ifeanyi who was in cuffs and other valuables.
It was gathered that the operatives who asked the family members to come to Aba North, a place that housed the defunct Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS were violent , so much so that they beat up the aged mother and sister of Ifeanyi , claiming that the suspect was a kidnapper.
Timeswatch learnt that sequel , family members made futile search for their son at the Aba North facility and proceeded to the CPS , Aba worried about Ifeanyi’s whereabouts.

According to them, the officer they met at the counter, at hearing the name of Ifeanyi and how he was arrested, immediately became aggressive , asking the search party to leave the station.
Refusing to be intimidated, it was further gathered that the family members who went with a lawyer located the office of the Divisional Police Officer , DPO to lodge their complaint but were interrupted by same woman police who rushed to tell the DPO that the group came to intimidate her at the counter, report which the family said infuriated the station boss who later abandoned them.
More, as the family frightfully made to walk out of the premises, Ifeanyi’s elder sister , Goodness Sunday claimed she saw Ifeanyi’s Toyota Camry Tiny light car which was also seized during the arrest, parked at a space inside the CPS; development which made them return inside the CPS where they alerted a policeman about the car which number plate had been removed.
According to the family team, the police quickly removed the vehicle to an unknown place , arrested all the family members and carted them to Umuahia from where they bailed themselves.
Not, even the traditional rulers of the community , Ezes Paul Okpanku and Nwa Okonko were able to tell Timeswatch anything useful about Ifeanyi’s whereabouts, though they both affirmed the strange arrest and that he was a law abiding member of the Vigilante group.
His Highness, Eze.Nwa Okonko while speaking to Timeswatch via telephone, expressed displeasure at the manner the police and govt authorities disregard traditional rulers in matters like this, stressing that terrible crimes against humanity are happening in the land, citing a recent alleged killing of a youth by a policeman in town as example .
The State’s vigilante commander known as “Fire” equally attested to the arrest of Ifeanyi, but also expressed confusion about where he was taken.
” He is a member of the Vigilante.
He is also a law abiding citizen who I don’t know in connection to crime.
” The only thing I can say is that people say he is rude.” Fire stated.
Goodness Sunday, Ifeanyi’s sister, amid sobs, said her brother may have been targeted by bad people who are not happy with his stance for truth, lawfulness and justice.
She wondered if her brother had not been killed , stating that he is the family’s only son.
” How is it that the operatives first located the CCTV camera the moment they brought Ifeanyi to the house?
” How did they know of the camera in the compound?
” Why have they carted prized possessions away?”, Goodness queried while crying over the phone.
She therefore called on highly placed Nigerians , human rights activists, the police top echelon to come to the aid of the family so that evil will not befall Ifeanyi who she said may be a victim of dangerous gang up or set up.
