It was a beautiful horizon at the True Worshippers Christian Assembly, Ijegun, Lagos yesterday as the church beamed resplendent with worship and celebration.
It was a special African Banquet , a strategic spiritual and worship rendezvous which entangled faith, tradition and culture in one magnetic atmosphere.
According to the Lead Pastor of the assembly, Chidozie Iyke , the purpose was to rekindle the notion of the supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples where He disclosed to them that a great banquet will come at an appointed time with those who will make it by and by.
The banquet was the grand finale of a sort of week long evange – cultural programme designed to further propagate the word of God.
During a special sermon, Pastor Chidozie quoted the book of Revelation 19, 6-7, 9 which talked about the massive banquet in heaven where the lamb will feast with the bride which is the church, stressing the need for the church to keep their garments immaculate in readiness.
Expatiating on the capacity of God to provide for his children so that feasting will never cease in their lives, he stated that God is God of all nations, tribes and cultures, and remains ever ready to provide for his children., anywhere, anyhow.
He urged the church to keep faith irrespective of the circumstances prevalent.
The African Banquet was a buffet in all coloration because it unveiled and unleashed facets of African dishes, dominated by Nigerian recipes.
The after church experience yesterday, became an eating galore and merriment extravaganza which kept God’s people inside the True Worshippers Christian Assembly till late in the evening.
