At a crucial press conference today held at Ward D in Idimu area of Alimosho, Lagos State, by the women wing of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, a clarion call had been sent to the ADC national hierarchy, appealing for, Hon. Arike Olusola, popularly known as Aiyekooto to be projected as consensus candidate for Alimosho federal Constituency, ahead of the 2027 election.

According to the Women Leader of ADC in Alimosho, Hon. Oluwayemisi Flourish, the collective demand by Alimosho women is particularly to avoid bloody clashes that characterize primary elections these days.

” In her words, ” as women, mothers, sisters, wives and faithful supporters, we are worried about the dangerous trend of things in the society which are creeping into the political space seriously.

” This is why we humbly beg our dear leaders to grant us this one wish. We would be happy to see our own transparent, tireless, truthful, ready to serve and integrate Hon. Arike Olusola as a consensus candidate for Alimosho – for the federal house of representative , the National Assembly”.
In the same vein, Secretary of the group, Deaconess Joy Abraham, highlighted that as an addition to peace and safety, making Hon. Olusola Arike – Aiyekooto a consensus candidate will be a major empowerment to Alimosho women who have unflinchingly supported their male counterparts since 1999.
Abraham noted that Hon. Arike Olusola is going to be a square peg in a square hole in the current political scheme of things if the leaders grant the women their hearts desire.
A press document made available to newsmen at the conference signed by Concerned Women and Mothers of Alimosho contained prayers for His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola , and Distinguished Senator David Mark, National Secretary and Chairman of ADC respectively.
The group referred to the National leaders of the ADC as fathers and leaders who are poised to rescue Nigeria from the throes of hardship, poverty , insecurity and executive recklessness.
