Until her demise on 17 January, 2025, late super mom, Mrs.Maria Ighedosa Odion was beacon of love, peace and domestic wisdom – qualities that cascaded through generations.

Great Grandmother, late Maria biologically had 7 children who she meticulously groomed and prudently prepared to become great parents and responsible members of the society.

Mother nature proceeded to blessed her children with procreation endowment , and they had 33 offsprings , some of who successively had 18 children, to paint the world of Late Maria Ighedosa with gold!

Born in the year 1937, she was a trailblazer in her hay days, championing meaningful courses and leading a life worthy of emulation.

She had cultural and informal education which became instrumental to her local commercial activities, indigenous entrepreneurship she used to support her family.

Indeed Mama Ighedosa Maria Odion was a success and a human blessing that transcends generations.

As a Christian, she was fervent in prayers and remained committed to worshipping God with the Christ Chosen Church of God.

Amazing “Mother of Nations”, she has a great history as the only child of her parents, who never buried any of her children, grand children and great grand children.

“My late mother was such a kind, loving and industrious woman. Words can never be adequate to describe her person.

All I can say is that she is one person so incomparable. Imagine that we discovered to our surprise , that she continued to pay her church dues, even when she was dying.

Sickness did not allow her pay last December due, and when I saw her record, I sent money for that, so that she did not owe.

In fact, I will miss her forever”, her son and eldest child, Kennedy Ighedosa cried!

All roads will lead to Amahor, Igueben LGA of Edo state, when her burial proceedings will commence.

No doubt, that community of Edo state will come alive with dignitaries, families, friends and well wishers , who will throng her all – important burial activity.

And when she is finally interred on 25th April, at her husband’s compound, Ididigba quarters, Amahor, it will be obvious that a Gem had fallen like a star from the galaxy!
